CedarCreek Estate Winery - Platinum Jagged Rock Chardonnay 2022
Cedarcreek has a commitment to organic vineyard farming and winemaking that builds a deep connection to the land in order to make wines that are vibrant and bright, a pure expression of the North Okanagan.
Their guiding philosophy is âwhatâs best for the land, is best for the wineâ, which translates to a unique approach towards working the land. Cedarcreek employ chickens to eliminate unwanted pests, aerate the soil, and produce eggs for the wineryâs restaurant. They also have cattle (Scottish Highland Cows) that wander the vineyard rows, breaking up the soil and depositing manure to fortify the vines. Bees and worms do their part too, pollinating the vines and enriching the soil. In addition, Cedarcreek places nesting boxes for Kestrels in the vineyardâthey help to keep the fruit safe.
For Cedarcreek, terroir is both found and forged. Nature supplies the raw materialsâthe constraints of aspect, geology and climateâand for over 40 years, Cedarcreek have listened to the ecosystem. By nurturing it, they have learned what each vineyard block is capable of in their quest to make outstanding wines.
